Qatar 2022 Final: a record 24.08 million viewers for Argentina's victory over France on TF1

Argentina - France (3-3 after extra time, 4-2 on penalties), the final of the 2022 World Cup, drew an average of 24.08 million viewers in France, with a peak audience of 29.4 million, on the private free-TV channel TF1, on Sunday 18/12/2022 (kick-off at 16:00 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie. This figure represents the best audience ever, all channels and all programmes combined.

The match posted an audience share of 80% (86.7% among 25-49 year olds, 87.9% among men aged between 25 and 49 old and 90.5% among 15-34 year olds). The match was also broadcast on the pay channel beIN Sports 1, whose audience was not communicated.

The penalty shootout drew an average of 29.09 million viewers on TF1 (audience share: 85.5%).
