Twitter: €283.7m of income (+114%) and €137.8m net loss (+172%) in Q3 2014

The microblogging platform and social network Twitter has achieved a turnover of approximately $361.3m (€283.7m) in the third quarter of 2014 (from 01/07 to 30/09/2014), up 114% year over year ($168.6m in Q3 2013, €132.4m), announced the American company based in San Francisco (California) on 27/10/2014.

Since 01/01/2014, Twitter has earned nearly $924m (€725.8m) in revenue, or 119% more than in the first nine months of 2013 ($422.2, €331.7m). Twitter recorded an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of fixed assets) of $68.3m (€53.6m) on 30/09/2014, which is 7.4 time higher then the same figure year over year ($9.3m, €7.3m). The net loss for the social network amounted to nearly $175.5m (€137.8m) on 30/09/2014, a loss which is growing by 172% compared to 30/09/2013 (-$64.6m, -€50.7m).

  • Shares of Twitter on the New York Stock Exchange closed the day (27/10/2014) down 2.9% to $48.56 (€38.12).
