The 18 Bundesliga clubs have an average of 24,930 season ticket holders for the 2022-23 season, a figure that is 4.5% higher than in 2019-20 (23,854 season ticket holders), the last season that began without any disruptions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This total makes the German league third among the European Top 5 behind LaLiga Santander and the Premier League.

With 55,000 season ticket holders, Borussia Dortmund is the German club with the highest number in 2022-23, as was the case in 2019-20. BVB ranks fourth in the Top 5 behind three Spanish clubs (FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF and Club Atlético de Madrid), tied with English club West Ham United FC (Premier League). Only three Bundesliga clubs have fewer than 15,000 season ticket holders: FSV Mainz 05, 1. FC Union Berlin and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
