Premiership Rugby: Wasps RFC, bought by HALO22 Limited, will join the Championship (D2) in 2023-24

Wasps RFC (Coventry, ENG) has had exited administration and will re-enter English domestic competitions in the 2023-24 season and participate in the Championship (second level), announced the club on 16/12/2022.

Wasps are being taken over, following approval of the project by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), by the English company HALO22 Limited, owned by the club's former non-executive director, Christopher Holland (ENG), who thus becomes the club's owner. Andy Scott (ENG), former CEO of 188Bet (sports betting) and former interim CEO of the Wasps Foundation, has been appointed as the club's CEO.

Wasps Holdings Limited, which manages the men's (then Gallagher Premiership Rugby) and women's (Allianz Premiership 15s) teams and the Wasps Rugby Club Academy, entered administration due to insolvency on 17/10/2022 and ceased trading immediately. 167 employees, including all players and technical staff, were made redundant.
