UC Sampdoria's (Serie A TIM) general shareholders' assembly scheduled for 19/12/2022, whose agenda included "the recapitalisation of the club through a capital increase", has been postponed "to the first days" of January 2023, announced the Genoese club on 19/12/2022.

Sampdoria, which has been for sale for several months due to the financial difficulties encountered by its owner Massimo Ferrero (ITA), is being targeted by the investment fund Merlyn Partners, which already owns LOSC Lille (Ligue 1 Uber Eats). The Luxembourg fund has made an offer of €50m valid until 05/01/2023, according to Italian media. However, Massimo Ferrero is reportedly still looking for alternative solutions, according to Italian media.

Initially scheduled for 14/12/2022, the meeting had already been postponed once at the request of Massimo Ferrero.
