UEFA: €10m invested in 153 sustainability and social responsibility projects in 2021-22 (report)

UEFA has invested over €10m in football social responsibility activities during the 2021-22 season (from 01/07/2021 to 30/06/2022) and supported 153 projects across European football, according to its Respect Report (document available to download), a "first look at the impact of Strength Through Unity, UEFA’s sustainability strategy launched in December 2021," published on 20/12/2022.

The €10m (€5.2m from UEFA's "HatTrick" programme for the redistribution of funds generated by the European championships + €4.8m from UEFA's CSR budget) were allocated to projects based on 11 strategic priorities defined by the body, such as the fight against racism, inclusion and environmental sustainability.

"Our sport proves to be an astonishing driver of positive social change, both in terms of awareness and real help for people in need. It is a role that UEFA gladly accepts with great joy and responsibility, and we are delighted that our members and partners also lead by example," said Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA.
