NFL/USA: YouTube acquires the broadcasting rights to the "NFL Sunday Ticket" from 2023 ($2.5bn/year)

Google, an American technology services company, has acquired the broadcasting rights, in the US and for its YouTube video platform, to the "NFL Sunday Ticket" from the 2023 season as part of a "multi-year agreement," announced the National Football League on 22/12/2022.

The NFL Sunday Ticket includes all "out-of-market" Sunday afternoon games in the regular season. Out-of-market games are games that are not broadcast in the viewer's local area.

Google has reportedly acquired these rights for €2.5bn (€2.35m) per season, according to the American media. CBS and Fox will remain the exclusive local broadcasters.

"Starting from the 2023 season, the NFL Sunday Ticket will be available as an add-on package on YouTube TV ($64.99/€61.12 per month subscription streaming service) and standalone a-la-carte on YouTube Primetime Channels. Updated NFL Sunday Ticket product features and functionality will be announced ahead of the 2023 NFL season," said the League.
