Denmark: Alka (insurance) becomes the title sponsor of the Danish Superliga until 2017-18

Alka, the leading Danish insurance company, will be the title sponsor of the Superliga (Danish first division) from 01/01/2015 to the end of the 2017-18 season, announced Alka on 29/10/2014. The contract amounts to €1.6m per year, and includes an options to extend for one and/or up to three additional seasons.

"This partnership aims to strengthen Alka, which will benefit from better visibility while continuing to offer exceptional (insurance) rates," stated the company on 29/10/2014. The Alka Superliga succeeds the SAS (Scandinavian Airlines Society) Ligaen (2001-2011) and the Superliga (2011-2014) as the official name of the Danish top division. Negotiations between the insurer and the league began in the summer 2014.
