Brazil: Allianz Parque of Palmeiras (São Paulo) will be opened on 20/11/2014

The Allianz Parque, the stadium belonging to SE Palmeiras (Brazilian Serie A, São Paulo), will be inaugurated furing the Palmeiras - Sport Recife fixture (Matchday 35), on 20/11/2014. Built on the Estadio Palestra Italia, the historic grounds of the club, the new stadium of Palmeiras has a capacity of 43,000 seats. It will accommodate up to 53,000 people in concert configuration.

Construction costs of the enclosure are valued at €203m. Palmeiras reached an agreement with Brazilian construction company WTorre in 2008 to fund the work that began in October 2010. The club will provide an annual appropriation to the company for 30 years. The stadium will be operated by AEG (Anschutz Entertainment Group), the American promoter of sporting and entertainment events, which wants to develop and produce a large number of concerts.
