DAZN Italy: technical problems during two Serie A TIM matches on 04/01/2023, customers compensated

"Quality and consumer care remain top priorities for us, which is why we will consider actions to protect the service offered and the investments made, as well as measures with all our distribution partners to ensure that fans can enjoy Serie A TIM coverage without technical problems," said the OTT sports platform DAZN on 05/01/2023. 

"We regret what happened during two of the 10 matches played on 04/01/2023 (FC Inter Milan - SSC Napoli and Udinese Calcio - Empoli FC). A technical disruption occurred, caused by an external global partner in charge of managing the traffic distribution on the servers used by DAZN. The disruption impacted a few customers, while the majority of those connected watched the matches without any problems," said the platform.

"We would like to apologise to the affected customers, whom we will proactively refund in accordance with the regulations in force," added DAZN.

• In Italy, DAZN holds the rights to broadcast all Serie A TIM matches (including 7 out of 10 on an exclusive basis), over the 2021-2024 cycle, for an estimated €840m per season.
