Germany: Sportdigital acquires TV rights to the Copa del Rey for the 2022-2025 cycle

Sportdigital has acquired the broadcasting rights in Germany for the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España over the 2022-2025 cycle (three seasons), announced the pay-TV channel on 09/01/2023. The agreement began with the broadcasting of the Round of 32 of the 2022-23 Copa del Rey, from 03 to 05/01/2023.

"Some 15 matches from both competitions will be sublicensed to Bild (German media group)," according to Sportdigital. The first semi-final of the 2023 Supercopa de España will pit Real Madrid CF versus Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) on Wednesday 11/01/2023 (20:00 CET), while the second semi-final will see Real Betis Balompié face FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) on Thursday 12/01/2023 (20:00 CET). The final will take place on Sunday 15/01/2023. 

The broadcasting rights to the Copa del Rey were held in Germany by the OTT sports platform DAZN during the 2019-2022 cycle.
