Tennis/Australian Open: Kia (car manufacturer, KOR) extends as major partner until 2028

Kia, a South Korean car manufacturer, has extended as a major partner (first level) of the Australian Open Tennis Championships (Grand Slam) for a further five editions (2024-2028), announced Tennis Australia on 10/01/2023. The 2023 edition of the Australian Open will be held at Melbourne Park from 16-29/01/2023.

Kia has been the Grand Slam's mobility partner for 20 years (since 2002). It is "one of the longest-standing sports sponsorships in Australia". The car manufacturer will continue to display its logo on the nets at the Australian Open.

To mark the extension, the South Korean manufacturer, accompanied by its brand ambassador Rafael Nadal, has unveiled a fleet of 130 vehicles, including 10 fully electric cars, dedicated to the travel of players, tournament officials and VIPs. In terms of sustainability, Kia is committed "to sustainability and to becoming carbon neutral by 2045," said the group.
