FIFA: new football agent regulations adopted on 16/12/2022 come into force

"Following their approval by the FIFA Council in December 2022, the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR) will come into force on Monday, 09/01/2023," announced the International Federation on 06/01/2023.

"The new regulations introduce basic service standards for football agents and their clients, including a mandatory licensing system, the prohibition of multiple representation to avoid conflicts of interest, and the introduction of a cap on agent fees (6% or 10% depending on the amount of the player's remuneration), all with the objective of reinforcing contractual stability, protecting the integrity of the transfer system and achieving greater financial transparency," explained FIFA. Abandoned in 2015, with the exception of a few countries (including France), the mandatory licensing system has thus been reintroduced.
