NFL games during the 2022-23 regular season drew an average 16.7 million viewers in the United States, according to data from the Nielsen Institute.

Although this figure is down 3% compared to 2021-22, it is nonetheless the second best average audience since the 2015-16 season:
• 2021-22: 17.1 million viewers
• 2020-21: 15.4 million viewers
• 2019-20: 16.5 million viewers
• 2018-19: 15.8 million viewers
• 2017-18: 14.9 million viewers
• 2016-17: 16.5 million viewers
• 2015-16: 17.9 million viewers

In 2022, NFL games recorded 82 of the 100 most-watched shows on US television (75 in 2021).

With an average of 42.06 million viewers, the Dallas Cowboys - New York Giants (28-20) game on Thursday 24/11/2022 (Thanksgiving Game) was the fixture that posted the best audience during the 2022-23 NFL regular season.
