Paris Saint-Germain: "The Parc des Princes will not be sold" (Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris)

"Very clearly, the Parc des Princes is not for sale. And it will not be sold. This is a firm and definitive position. It is an exceptional part of Parisian heritage," said Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, during an exchange with the readers of the French daily newspaper Le Parisien, on Sunday 15/01/2023.

"But of course we have to support Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) in its desire and need to renovate, increase capacity (currently 47,929), and modernise the Parc. It should be remembered, however, that the context is constrained. Part of the stadium is on the ring road, so we can't dig it up," said Hidalgo.

The statements made by the Mayor of Paris echo those of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of PSG, on 03/12/2022 to L'Equipe, in which he announced the club's intention to buy the stadium (a proposal of around €40m would have been formulated), or to leave it in case of refusal by the municipality: "If the city hall does not want to accept our offer, we leave.
