esports: Kappa becomes equipment supplier of Aegis, a team founded by influencers, for the 2023 LFL

Kappa has become the official equipment supplier of Aegis, a French team founded by three Twitch influencers and streamers (Mister MV, Shaunz and DFG), which will compete in the French League of Legends (LFL) in 2023, announced Sportfive, the marketing agency of the esports outfit, on 13/01/2023.

On this occasion, Kappa unveiled the official Aegis jersey for the 2023 season, priced at €59.90. The Italian brand only equips Aegis in the 2023 LFL, while it supplies the kits for the Spanish team Mad Lions in the LEC (EMEA league). 

Aegis bought the LFL slot from US-based Misfits Premier, which decided to leave the LoL competitive scene in the LFL as well as in the LEC (slot bought by Team Heretics for €34m). The sale of the slot in the LFL was handled by Webedia, the agency that has been organising the competition since 2019 under a sublicensing agreement with US publisher Riot Games. This buyout was redistributed as follows: 50% for Misfits Gaming and 50% for the other LFL teams.
