beIN Sports France: Atalanta BC matches no longer broadcast due to the display of a banned sponsor

"As of today, we have to stop broadcasting Atalanta BC (Serie A TIM) matches following a decision by the French General Direction for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Control (Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes, DGCCRF), according to which any broadcast showing one of the team's partners would constitute prohibited advertising of risky financial products," announced the pay-TV group beIN Sports France on 20/01/2023.

The sponsor in question is Plus 500, according to information from News Tank. The London-based broker has become the main shirt sponsor of Atalanta BC for three seasons over the 2020-2023 period on 19/08/2020.

"This decision affects the programming of Serie A matches on our channels, as well as the fans who watch the Italian top flight. We are doing everything we can to ensure that games involving Atalanta, a historic club, are broadcast again," said beIN Sports France.
