Euro/Olympic & Paralympic Games: a Franco-German cooperation for the 2024 "summer of sports"

• "Developing a common vision for a "summer of sports" in the context of the men's Euro tournament being held in Germany and the Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place in Paris in the summer of 2024, to highlight the expertise and capacity of the Franco-German pair to host major sports events that are responsible, inclusive, engage the local population and leave a lasting legacy;
• Establishing common standards for the responsible organisation of major sports events, taking into account the requirements of energy efficiency and ecological transition, as well as human and social rights, in order to achieve a better acceptability and a sustainable legacy for major sports events."

These are the "flagship projects" which Nancy Faeser, the German Minister of the Interior and Territory, who is also in charge of sports, and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, the French Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, are planning to discuss on a regular basis from now until 2024, while "continuing to implement other structuring projects in their field."
