esports: Alban Dechelotte appointed CEO of G2 Esports after joining the German team in 2021

Alban Dechelotte has been appointed CEO of G2 Esports, whose League of Legends video game team competes in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), announced the Berlin (GER) based esport organisation on 20/01/2023.

The Frenchman succeeds Carlos "Ocelote" Rodríguez, founder of the company in 2013. The Spaniard resigned as CEO of G2 Esports on 23/09/2022 (see below). 

Alban Dechelotte joined G2 Esports as general manager on 29/07/2021. He had previously held the position of head of partnerships and business development in the EMEA region at Riot Games, publisher of the League of Legends video game, since April 2020. Alban Dechelotte joined the US video game publisher in March 2018. Prior to that, he spent five years at Coca-Cola as marketing manager for North West Europe and the Nordics (2013-2015), and then as general manager marketing and entertainment (2015-2018). Alban Dechelotte spent 10 years at Havas Sports & Entertainment, including a position as managing director for Germany (2011-2012).
