2022-23 Ligue 1 Uber Eats: a record attendance of 4.5 million spectators midway through the season

"At the end of Matchday 19 (played on 14 and 15/01/2023) of the championship, which concluded the first half of the 2022-23 season, the Ligue 1 Uber Eats observed a record increase in attendance with over 4.5 million spectators present in its stadiums. A record figure that is up 12%, or 555,000 spectators, compared to the same period in 2021-22, and by a 5% increase, or 234,000 spectators, compared to mid-season 2019-20, prior to Covid," said the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 24/01/2023.

This record performance is also reflected in a record average attendance and a high stadium fill rate at stadiums in the French top flight: "Out of a total of 190 matches organised since the start of the season, the average attendance has reached a record high of 23,773 spectators per match. The exceptional fill rate has remained constant since August as it stands at 81%, an increase of 11 points compared to last season and 7 points compared to 2019-20."
