Euroleague: partnership with YBVR to broadcast matches in virtual reality

Euroleague Basketball has extended its partnership with US-based virtual reality and technology company YBVR to broadcast a selection of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in virtual reality from 2022-23, announced the competition's governing body on 25/01/2023.

"The VR games package will be included in all EuroLeagueTV subscriptions for all the countries where the service is operational, while USA fans will have the chance to watch on XTADIUM, the VR app developed by YBVR that is available on the Meta Quest Store (Meta's online store for VR apps)," explained Euroleague.

The first game to be broadcast in VR will be Real Madrid Baloncesto - FC Barcelona, on Gameday 21 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, to be played on Thursday 26/01/2023 (kick-off at 19:00 CET).

• Euroleague Basketball partnered with YBVR for the 2021 (Cologne, Germany) and 2022 (Belgrade, Serbia) Final Four, offering fans the opportunity to watch the games from the sidelines "through 180 and 360-degree cameras spread around the court."
