Serie A TIM: JP Morgan Chase ready to invest €700m to €1bn in the post-2024 media rights (press)

JP Morgan Chase & Co., an American holding company specialised in financial services, has reportedly expressed an interest, to the Lega Serie A, in investing in the media rights of the Serie A TIM from the 2024-25 season onwards, according to the British news agency Reuters on 27/01/2023.

JP Morgan is allegedly willing to invest €700m to €1bn, while the American investment fund Apollo Global Management has also expressed an interest, according to Reuters. The Italian clubs are due to meet to discuss the different bids on 24/02/2023.

The Lega Serie A has reportedly received two offers from investment funds to invest in the media rights to the Serie A TIM for the period beginning with the 2024-25 season, according to Italian business daily Il Sole 24 Ore on 09/10/2022.

• The first offer is said to be from the investment fund Searchlight Capital, which would guarantee the Lega Serie A a minimum of €940m per season (i.e. €2.82bn over 2024-2027) in order to negotiate, on behalf of the Italian league, the marketing of a dedicated channel/platform with the various operators (telecoms…
