Italy/fictitious capital gains: sanctions "unfounded in terms of law" (Juventus FC)

"Juventus FC (Serie A TIM) and its legal team have carefully read and will analyse in depth the justifications, recently published, pertaining to the decision of the United Sections of the Federal Court of Appeal. It is a document, predictable in terms of content, in light of the heavy decision, but vitiated by obvious illogicalities, motivational deficiencies and unfounded in terms of law," announced the Italian club on 30/01/2023.

This statement comes ten days after the FIGC Court of Appeal, presided over by Mario Luigi Torsello, decided to sanction 11 of the club's current or former executives with bans ranging from 8 to 30 months, as well as stripping the first team of 15 points in the 2022-23 Italian league, during the ruling on the appeal of the trial on transfer capital gains considered fictitious and irregular.
