"We must understand that sport is a passion for the Qatari ruling family. Much the same way as a political leader or an entrepreneur passionate about art will invest in art and culture, such as foundations like Pinault or Louis Vuitton. Sport is part of the DNA of Qatar," said Richard Attias, the executive chairman of Richard Attias & Associates and the executive producer of the Doha Goals forum, to News Tank on 04/11/2014.

The 2014 edition of the Doha Goals forum was held at the Aspire Dome in Doha (Qatar) from 03 to 05/11/2014, under the theme "The role of sport in national and regional policies."

"The time has come for governments to take responsibility for sport and stop relying on the private sector. The ideas that have emerged from Doha Goals since 2012 must be re-visited and now applied also by public authorities. That's why we wanted to highlight the public sector in this 2014 edition," said Richard Attias, also creator of the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland).

Richard Attias responded to questions from News Tank.
