Netherlands/Viaplay: distribution agreement with Solcon (telecoms) for the broadcast of competitions

The Netherlands-based telecommunications operator Solcon has entered into a distribution agreement with Viaplay for the broadcasting of sports competitions for which the latter holds the rights in the Netherlands, from February 2023, announced the Swedish audiovisual group on 01/02/2023.

"From 01/02/2023, new Solcon customers can access the Viaplay streaming service for free during the entire 2023 Formula 1 season. At the same time, current Solcon customers can subscribe to Viaplay for €9.99 per month (compared with the regular price of €15.99 per month from 01/03/2023) for the next six months," said the group.

"In addition to Formula 1, Viaplay's Dutch sports line-up includes football from the Premier League, Bundesliga, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, EFL Championship and Carabao Cup, along with PDC darts, Hoofdklasse field hockey, KSW mixed martial arts, IHF handball and much more," added Viaplay.
