Valencia CF: a turnover of €109.7m (+0.5%) and net loss of €46.1m in 2021-22

Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) has posted a turnover of €109.7m (excluding capital gains on player transfers) for the 2021-22 financial year (from 01/07/2021 to 30/06/2022), an increase of 0.5% compared to the 2020-21 financial year (€108.5m), according to the annual accounts published by the club on 31/01/2023.

This slight increase compared to the previous financial year is notably linked to matchday revenues, which amounted to €11.6m, compared to less than €500,000 in 2020-21 due to restrictions on the number of fans in Spanish stadiums as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. TV rights were down (€70.8m in 2021-22 vs €83.2m in 2020-21), due to the postponement of part of the 2019-20 season's TV rights revenues to 2020-21, again because of the pandemic (end of the season postponed until after 30/06 at the time).

The Spanish club's net loss increased by 47.8% from €31.2m in 2020-21 to €46.1m in 2022. This is due in particular to a drop in revenue from player transfers, which stood at €22.5m in 2021-22, compared to €42.4m in 2020-21.
