Italy: StarCasino Sport (news website), official VAR partner of the Serie BKT for the end of 2022-23

StarCasino Sport, a sports news site owned by online gambling brand StarCasino (Betsson AB, SWE), has become the "official VAR partner" of the Serie BKT for the remainder of the 2022-23 season, announced the Lega Serie B on 31/01/2023. The agreement was negotiated by the media and marketing rights agency Infront.

As part of the partnership, the brand will benefit from visibility via "the customisation of TV graphics, VAR rooms and visibility in the stadiums," explained the body. This is the first time that the Serie BKT has welcomed a sponsor dedicated to VAR since the technology was introduced in Italy's second professional division in 2021-22.

In Italy, the Serie A TIM has benefited from VAR since the 2017-18 season and also has a dedicated partner: the crypto-asset company Crypto.com (SGP), a "technology partner" for VAR and goal-line technology (GLT) under a multi-year agreement signed by the Lega Serie A on 02/08/2021. The Serie A TIM thus became the first European league to commercialise sponsorship space for VAR and GLT.
