FIFA: creation of a football agent working group following the adoption of new regulations

FIFA has established a working group "composed of representatives of professional football stakeholders and agent organisations from across the world that will act as a permanent consultative body in relation to football agent matters," announced the body on 06/02/2023.

The creation of this permanent body is part of the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations, which came into force on 09/01/2023. The group is currently composed of 18 people, including 14 agents as well as representatives of FIFPro, the ECA and the Premier League.

"The establishment of the working group is a key initiative that will enable us to continue our constructive dialogue with agent organisations across the world regarding the implementation of the new framework and any potential changes in the future. In line with the extensive consultation process that has been implemented in the past years, FIFA remains committed to an open exchange within the new regulatory framework,” said Emilio García Silvero, chief legal and compliance officer at FIFA.
