"A completely different Super League format than the first version, without permanent members. Not a closed elite club but an open, merit-based competition, compatible with the national leagues and played in the windows of the current European tournaments. "Almost all the clubs we talk to share our diagnosis: football is suffering from economic instability and competitiveness within and between leagues has become worryingly polarised. No club sees any solutions for the future because they see their league losing its attractiveness and economic power as well as its competitiveness compared to the Premier League. Being trapped in an uncompetitive league - which is the case with some of the Big 5 - takes away the competitiveness from clubs," said Reichart.
