Flyeralarm Frauen-Bundesliga: record revenues of €17m for German women's clubs in 2021-22

Record revenues, increased television exposure, increased investment in personnel: these are the main findings of the 2021-22 Flyeralarm Frauen-Bundesliga report published by the German Football Association (DFB) on 07/02/2023 (see below).

With more than €17m generated by the 12 clubs in 2021-22 and an average income of €1.4m, revenues reached a new record. The figures represent an increase of over 40% compared to the 2017-18 season.

In total, the 132 league matches reached a cumulative audience of 211 million viewers. This is an increase of 83% compared to 2020-21, not least due to the broadcasting of all matches on the OTT platforms of Magenta Sports (Deutsche Telekom) and 29 matches on Eurosport (pay-TV) and ARD (German public broadcasting group).
