Brand Finance: Liverpool, Real Betis & Real Madrid, the most sustainable clubs in 2023

Liverpool FC (Premier League) is the European Top 5 club whose brand is perceived as the most sustainable, according to the ranking established by the American company Brand Finance, a strategy and brand valuation consultancy, in the first edition of its annual report "Football Sustainability Index 2023", published on 07/02/2023.

The three sustainability criteria assessed are environmental, social and governance. Liverpool, which has an overall score of 86/100, is ahead of Real Betis Balompié (LaLiga Santander, 83/100) and Real Madrid CF (79/100). The English club also dominates the ranking on the governance criterion, while RC Lens (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) is at the top of the social aspect and SC Freiburg (Bundesliga) occupies the first place in the environmental index.
