NFL: $500m in advertising revenue for Fox Sports for broadcasts during the Super Bowl on 12/02/2023

The pay and free TV group Fox Sports has sold its entire advertising inventory for a total of $500bn (€463.1bn) ahead of the Super Bowl LVII (NFL) between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chief at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, a suburb of Phoenix (Arizona, USA), on 12/02/2023 (kick-off at 18:30 local time, 00:30 CET on 13/02/2023).

The average cost of a 30-second advertisement is between $6m and $7m (€5.5m and €6.5m), with some exceeding $7m, Fox Sports reports on 06/02/2023. "It's certainly far and away the most money that we've ever booked in a Super Bowl," said Mark Evans, executive vice president of sales at Fox Sports, to The Associated Press on 06/02/2023. One in five Americans consider the original Super Bowl TV commercials, which usually feature stars and influencers, to be the "main feature" of the Super Bowl, according to a Forbes study.

With three minutes of advertising in total, AB InBev (beer) will be the advertiser with the longest airtime. However, the Belgian-Brazilian group has waived its exclusive agreement with the NFL, allowing beer and spirits brands…
