Earthquake in Turkey & Syria: a minute's silence observed by clubs in France, Germany and Spain

"As a tribute to the victims of the terrible earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria (on 06/02/2023), a minute's silence will be observed in all Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT stadiums before the start of the games on Matchday 23, announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 10/02/2023. The provisional death toll for the disaster was over 21,700 on the same day.

In Germany, the DFL is also calling on clubs to observe a minute's silence before all Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga matches (Matchday 20), and on players to wear black armbands as a tribute, according to the German professional league on 10/02/2023. The German Football Association (DFB) made the same recommendations to clubs in the 3.Bundesliga (Matchday 22), Flyeralarm Frauen-Bundesliga (Matchday 12) and 2. Frauen-Bundesliga (Matchday 13). A minute's silence was also observed before the Round of 16 of the DFB-Pokal on 07 and 08/02/2023.
