Switzerland: public TV group SRG SSR acquires free-to-air rights to the European Cups (2024-2027)

The Swiss public television group SRG SSR has acquired free-to-air broadcasting rights in Switzerland for the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League over the 2024-2027 cycle, announced the company on 09/02/2023.

The rights have been sublicensed from the Swiss telecoms operator Swisscom, which extended its rights to broadcast the European Cups for its Blue Sports pay-TV package over the 2024-2027 cycle on 06/12/2022.

"One game per round will be broadcast live on SRG channels over the three seasons, making a total of 17 matches, including the final. SRG has acquired the rights to broadcast the Champions League final live through an agreement with UEFA. If a Swiss team reaches the play-off stage, SRG will also broadcast two matches live (a total of 19 matches). As part of the agreement, SRG has sublicensed the Champions League final to Blue Sports for pay-TV broadcasting," explained SRG.
