Bundesliga/DFL: continuation of the strategic partnership project with potential investors

"At a joint meeting held today, the executive committee of DFL e.V. (association on which the German League is based) and the supervisory board of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (commercial structure) came out in favour of taking the next steps on the basis of the concept presented by the 'Future Scenarios Working Group' for the further development of German professional football and a possible strategic partnership at league level," announced the Deutsche Fußball Liga on 09/02/2023.

Donata Hopfen, then CEO of the DFL (resigned on 07/12, was replaced by Axel Hellmann and Oliver Leki, appointed interim co-CEOs on 08/12/2022), had announced the creation of such a working group on 17/11/2022. The group's tasks include identifying investors who could acquire a portion - up to a maximum of 20% - of the domestic and international media rights to the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga within the framework of the creation of a new commercial company.
