UEFA: return of the European Cups, more than three months after the end of the group stages

UEFA's three men's club competitions each enter the knockout stages this week, more than three months after the end of the group stages which ended on 02 (Champions League) and 03/11/2022 (Europa League and Europa Conference League). This particularly long break is a consequence of the World Cup being held in Qatar at an unprecedented time in the season, from 20/11 to 18/12/2022.

The Champions League resumes with the first four Round of 16 first legs scheduled for 14 and 15/02/2023:
• AC Milan (Serie A TIM) - Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League)
• Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) - FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)
• Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) - Chelsea FC (Premier League)
• FC Brugge (Jupiler Pro League) - SL Benfica (Liga Portugal Bwin)

In the Europa League and the Europa Conference League, the competition returns on 16/02/2023 via a play-off for the Round of 16, with eight matches in each of the two tournaments. The Europa League fixtures include three clashes between European Top 5 teams:
