France/Media: OTT platform Salto (France Télévisions, TF1 & M6) ends new subscriptions

"Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to subscribe to Salto. Thank you to all subscribers for having shared with us their desire and enthusiasm for a 'Made in France' streaming platform," is the message written on the Salto OTT platform website since 13/02/2023. It is still accessible, but only for subscribers who have signed up before that date.

The free-TV groups TF1 and M6 as well as the public broadcasting group France Télévisions had announced the creation of the platform on 12/08/2019. Salto was subsequently launched on 20/10/2020. An autonomous company, equally owned by the three groups, had been created to operate the streaming service.

Salto was available via a monthly subscription with no commitment of €7.99 or via an annual subscription of €69.90 (i.e. €5.80 per month). The platform offers a variety of programmes: news (newscasts, magazines, special events), sports, entertainment, French fiction, US series, documentaries and cinema.
