LaLiga: launch of a production company "LaLiga Studios" in collaboration with Banijay Iberia

LaLiga has signed a collaboration agreement with Banijay Iberia, a Spanish subsidiary of the French production and distribution company, to launch "LaLiga Studios", its own sports content production company, announced the body on 13/02/2023.

As part of the agreement, which will be "effective in the coming weeks", the two parties "will produce audiovisual content for LaLiga, clubs, sponsors, and broadcasters. LaLiga Studios will also work with international platforms and brands in the development, production, and distribution of entertainment, documentary, fiction, and animation content," explained the Spanish league.

The new entity, which aims to become "a global leader in the creation of sports-related content", will be headed by Uruguayan Chalo Bonifacino Cooke, who has been appointed managing director and executive producer, and will "oversee its international growth utilising the footprint of both companies."
