Tennis/US Open: Warner Bros. Discovery (Eurosport) extends European TV rights (outside France)

Warner Bros. Discovery, parent company of the pay-TV group Eurosport, has extended its rights to broadcast the US Open over the 2023-2027 cycle (five editions) in 45 European territories, including 42 on an exclusive basis, announced the media and entertainment conglomerate on 14/02/2023. Eurosport has been broadcasting the Grand Slam tournament since 2001.

"The deal includes live and highlights rights with every match on every court available to stream on discovery+ and the Eurosport app, in addition to live television coverage during the tournament on Eurosport 1 and 2. Markets including the Nordics will also have the option to showcase the best matches on Warner Bros. Discovery's free-to-air channels," explained Warner Bros. Discovery.

The new agreement between Warner Bros. Discovery and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will cover all European markets except Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and Ireland. Eurosport held the rights to broadcast the US Open in France over the 2018-2022 cycle.
