TF1: a turnover of €2.51bn (+3.3%) & net profit of €176.1m (-€49.2m) for the group in 2022

The private French free-TV group TF1 posted a turnover of €2.507bn in 2022, up 3.3% on 2021, according to results published by the group on 14/02/2023.

"In 2022, TF1 will be the only channel to attract more than 7 million viewers in all genres, particularly with federative sporting events, such as the 2022 World Cup with the French team, which drew 24.1 million viewers to the final, the highest historical television audience for all programmes and all channels combined," explained TF1.

Operating profit was €301.2m (down €31.7m on 2021, -9.5%) and net profit was €176.1m (down €49.2m on 2021, -22%). This "includes losses for the year as well as liquidation losses related to the shutdown of the Salto OTT platform in the amount of €46.1m," added the group.

The cost of sports programmes was €110m, compared with €69.1m in 2021. In particular, the group broadcast the 2022 World Cup, the 2022 Women's Euro, the 2021-22 Men's and Women's Champions League finals, the Men's and Women's European Handball Championships and the Women's Rugby World Cup.
