Women's football: 55,000 spectators to attend the England-Germany friendly match at Wembley

55,000 tickets have been sold for the friendly match between the England women's national team and its counterpart from Germany at Wembley Stadium (90,000 seats) on 23/11/2014 in London (ENG), announces the FA (English Football Association) on 07/11/2014.

This will be a record attendance for a match of the women's team of England, which will play its first match in its history at Wembley. No further tickets will be sold for this event due to "engineering work disrupting access to the stadium via public transport," said the English FA.

  • The ticket price for this event was £15 (€19.10) for adults and £1 (€ 1.27) for children under 18 years.
  • The previous attendance record for a women's football match goes back to the Euro 2005 match between England and Finland at the Etihad Stadium (Manchester), with 29,092 spectators.
