Aston Villa FC: owner V Sports to acquire 46% of Vitória Sport Clube (POR) for €5.5m

V Sports, a Luxembourg investment fund that owns Aston Villa FC (Premier League), is to acquire 46% of Vitória Sport Clube (Liga Portugal Bwin) for €5.5m, announced the two clubs on 14/02/2023.

The agreement, which has yet to be validated by the members of Vitória Sport Clube at a general meeting "scheduled soon", will involve the entry of two representatives of V Sports on the club's board of directors. It also provides for the "investment of €2m in infrastructure, to be applied in two years, also making possible a credit line of up to €20m."

"V Sports aims to create a synergy amongst clubs in its group that will encourage the sharing of worldwide scouting networks, academy coaching methodologies, best practice and youth academy development strategies across Europe and Africa," explained the investment fund.
