CIES: SL Benfica, team whose club-trained players have the highest total transfer value (€670m)

SL Benfica (Liga Portugal Bwin) is the number one club "according to the total estimated transfer value of their youth academy graduates active in more than 50 professional leagues" with a total value of €670m from 104 players, according to the CIES Football Observatory in its "Weekly Post" published on 15/02/2023.

The Portuguese club is ahead of Chelsea FC (Premier League), which has 78 active players with a total value of €630m, and FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander), with 102 players valued at €581m.

Paris Saint-Germain, in 6^th place (83 players/€491m), is the top Ligue 1 Uber Eats club in the ranking, while FC Bayern Munich, in 19^th place, is the best German representative (56 players/€331m). The first Serie A TIM club in the ranking is Atalanta BC (48 players/€217m), in 42^nd place.

In terms of the value of footballers whose 'transfer rights' are still held by their parent club, Chelsea lead the way (€325m) ahead of Barcelona (€281m) and Manchester City FC (€250m).
