ExclusiveClermont Foot 63: "I'm not an investor, I'm a football entrepreneur" (Ahmet Schaefer, president)

"The club is healthy, which allows us to make a profit that we reinvest in the training centre, with a new hybrid pitch and a new building. These are significant investments. We have also tripled the number of employees (nine administrative staff when I arrived). You could call it smart money. I don't have a transport or logistics company to rely on outside the club. I'm not an investor, I'm a football entrepreneur," said Ahmet Schaefer (SUI), president and owner of Clermont Foot 63 (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), to News Tank Football on 14/02/2023.

Having come through FIFA and the firm MP & Silva, among others, Ahmet Schaefer founded Core Sports Capital in September 2018 with the aim of creating an alliance of clubs around a flagship project eventually deployed at Clermont Foot 63, which he acquired in March 2019.

"We quickly focused on France. Also because of the pool of players in the Lyon region, the Paris region, as well as the possibility of signing agreements with African academies with which the club had no previous links. We have created these links thanks to our internationalisation…
