Earthquake: a virtual match between AS Roma and Adana Demirspor to support people affected in Turkey

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) will play "a virtual match" versus Adana Demirspor (Süper Lig) "to support people affected by the earthquake in Turkey," announced the Italian club on 20/02/2023.

33,000 virtual tickets will be put on sale at prices ranging from €2.50 to €50 for this match that will not take place physically. The first 2,000 tickets have been purchased by the Italian club. All proceeds will be donated to the Turkish government agency AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority).

This fictitious match, facilitated by former Roma striker and current Adana coach Vincenzo Montella (ITA), is being staged two weeks after the earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria on 06/02/2023 and its aftershocks in the days that followed, with a provisional death toll of over 45,000 (as of 21/02/2023).
