MLS: adidas extends as exclusive equipment supplier for 29 franchises until 2030 ($830m)

adidas is to continue as the exclusive equipment supplier to all 29 Major League Soccer franchises as part of a "multi-year and multi-faceted agreement," announced the North American football league on 22/02/2023. This new agreement will cover six seasons, i.e. until 2030, and is worth a total of $830m (€783.4m), according to media reports on the same day.

adidas has been a partner of MLS since its inception in 1996 and the exclusive equipment supplier of the franchises since 2004. The previous extension of this partnership was also for a six-season cycle (2019-2024), for a total sum of $700m (€593m on the date of the official announcement, 02/08/2017). As part of the new agreement, the German equipment manufacturer will continue to provide "jerseys, footwear, training gear, and sideline apparel and will also provide the official match ball for all MLS properties - including MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT," explained the brand.
