F1: Coupang (e-commerce, KOR) acquires exclusive broadcasting rights in South Korea from 2023

Coupang, a South Korean e-commerce company, has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to the Formula One World Championship for South Korea as part of a "multi-year deal" from 2023, announced Formula One Group on 22/02/2023.

The company will broadcast all the races on its Coupang Play OTT platform. Coupang had entered into an initial agreement with Formula One Group in October 2022 to broadcast the end of the 2022 Formula One World Championship season.

"Despite the growing global popularity of F1, it was hard to view the races in Korea. Coupang Play is delighted to offer Formula 1, the world's best car racing competition to motorsports fans in Korea. Coupang Play will continue to work hard to make sure viewers in Korea can enjoy a variety of sports more conveniently," said Stephen Kim, head of the streaming platform.
