2022-23 Copa del Rey: BT Sport acquires TV rights to the semi-finals & final in the UK

The pay-TV operator BT Sport has acquired the exclusive UK broadcasting rights to the semi-finals and final of the 2022-23 Copa del Rey (5 matches), announced company on 28/02/2023.

The deal will begin with the broadcast of the first leg of the semi-final between Club Atletico Osasuna (LaLiga Santader) and Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) on Wednesday 01/03/2023 (21:00 CET). The other semi-final first leg will be between Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) and FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) on Thursday 02/03/2023 (21:00 CET). The second leg of the semi-finals will take place on 04/04/2023 and 05/04/2023 respectively, while the final will take place on 06/05/2023.

The broadcasting rights for the Copa del Rey in the UK were previously held by the UK pay and free TV group Premier Sports over the 2020-2022 cycle. Premier Sports, which was acquired by Swedish broadcasting group Viaplay on 21/07/2022, holds the exclusive full broadcasting rights to LaLiga Santander in the UK and Ireland for the 2022-2025 cycle.
