esports: IOC presents the programme, identity & video games for its "Olympic Esports Series 2023"

The IOC has presented the programme and identity for the video games involved in its "Olympic Esports Series 2023" (OES), the finals of which will be played "live" and "in-person for the first time" at the Suntec Centre in Singapore, the city that will host the first "Olympic Esports Week" from 22 to 25/06/2023, announced the International Olympic Committee on 01/03/2023.

The world body has chosen to make nine traditional sports (archery, baseball, chess, cycling, dance, sailing, tennis, taekwondo and motor sport) "virtual" by relying on games and software such as Zwift (cycling), Virtual Regatta (sailing), WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros (baseball) and Tennis Clash (tennis). Each of the publishers of these games is attached to an international federation. The main competitive games such as League of Legends or CS:GO are therefore not included in this list to date. Some game publishers, such as Rocket League, are reportedly in discussions with the IOC to join the programme from 2023.
