European Top 5: social media communities of the 98 clubs (March 2023)

• Together the clubs in the European Top 5 gained 64.3 million fans last month, bringing their total followers to nearly 2.3 billion.
• Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is the club with the most fans on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter combined, with over 320 million followers ahead of FC Barcelona, with 294 million followers, and Manchester United FC (Premier League), which has almost 194 million followers.
• Real Madrid was the club with the largest increase in fans during the month of February, with 3.8 million new followers.
• In relative terms, Girona FC (LaLiga Santander) posted the best percentage growth in its total number of followers, with an average of +116.9% across the four platforms.
• Only nine clubs from the European Top 5 have a total of over 100 million followers, including four from the Premier League, two from LaLiga Santander, one from Ligue 1 Uber Eats, one from the Bundesliga (FC Bayern Munich) and one from Serie A TIM (Juventus FC).
